We believe worship is a response to the Love of God. The gospel is just as radical today as it was 2000 years ago. We present it in a style that we can relate with in today's terms but hold true to the Gospel as it was taught by Christ.
We don’t know exactly how to describe our worship style, but if pushed, we would probably say it is a soulful (or eclectic) blend of folk, jazz and blues combining choruses, hymns and praise to hopefully create an honest time of worship
Worship Philosophy

Music Our particular calling is to strive to communicate Christ in applicable ways. Our music features an acoustic style of music, combining hymns, choruses, and scripture songs. We think of it as an eclectic blend of traditional and newer songs rich with redemptive themes.
Clapping and Raised Hands Many of our folks enjoy clapping or raising their hands in worship, both of which are commended in the psalms. We trust you will allow them such freedom and that you will feel free yourself either to participate, or not. Sometimes our folks will also clap after a song. They don’t do so because they were entertained, but because they are thanking God and encouraging their friends. We encourage you to follow your own conscience. We encourage people to feel comfortable in worship and if that means raising or clapping their hands, we say go for it and don’t feel intimidated or method conscious. |

Messages Our messages based clearly on the timeless truth in the Scriptures -- normally from one particular passage, which is taken in its proper context and explained and applied in an understandable and applicable manner. Many times, these messages are part of a broader series as we work through particular books of the Bible.
We celebrate communion (the Lord’s Supper) frequently and attempt to make it unique and special. Our hope is to prevent the celebration of the Lord’s Supper from becoming ordinary, sterile or a mere formality. We try to not get hung up on familiar methods of bread and wine distribution, or comfort patterns of how “we do” communion, and miss the Savior in the supper. |
Dress We believe God is more interested in the state of our hearts than what we wear. (Scripture never outlines a dress code.) Therefore, we emphasize freedom, whether formal or very casual, as long as we all remain respectful to the Lord, and caring toward others. Worship Style Worship is our response to the grace and glory of God. Therefore, we believe worship is to be doxological (meaning focusing on the glory of God). Our desire is to worship God with excellence without being rigid, stiff, or pretentious. Our atmosphere is more relaxed than many worship environments folks are used to, after all we worship in a gym…Our hope is that our worship will be gospel centered, focused away from us and upon God. We believe that God centered worship is most genuine when people are encouraged to be honest before God and one another. Our worship leaders communicate the gospel without pious platitudes or pious attitudes which can sometimes speak less about Christ and more about our high minded arrogance and over inflated sense of self importance. |
